Expectations met

As an engineer, I know Chipolo (and their competitors) are doing something with phone Bluetooth that was never intended. To their credit, the basics all work great and the app is clean and elegant. Features like in/out of range have quiet zones to help make it more useable, but it is still not a feature for my parents. That said, I keep buying more for all my family members. In default setting it is "grandmother ok"

Despite all the reviews to the contrary, I can say that support is currently excellent. They even sent me some specially cut 3m double sided tape to mount it to a flat surface - no charge.
