In italy more location near Milan are not recognized. When my auto is near my home Chipolo say is in the other city... Good Idea but bad product.

chipolo is not gps and app is not really working well. Nut the biggest problem is the beep too low and you can’t hear even in the same room if not very silente, under something or inside a bag. Actually is just a decorative key holder

It really is necessary to turn geofence on 24h/day and kill cell phone battery?

I backed this on Kickstarter and love it! The app is easy to use, accurate and super fun. Great job Chipolo team!

The distance tracking can use some work (not too accurate) and would be nice to provide direction of keys not just distance. Also if the app is closed/quit shake to find wont work.

None of the apps modes are labeled. I have no idea what any of the icons mean, or why my chipolo keeps beeping every 2 mins.

The app has no label or text, just icons, which arent as explicit as the developer probably think they are. I made my chipolo beep and Id better be already next to it if I want to hear it... Not loud at all.

I have yet to receive my Chipolo and will have to revise my review at that time. My first impression was not good with this app, as it seems to adjust the system volume (music being played). Headphones, built in speakers, and even airplay are affected. Even while the app is minimized. Weird part is that the actual slider does not move and for all intents and purposes still works -- just at 100% its perhaps 10% less volume. Force quit this app and the volume resumes at its normal output. Ive noticed that this was an issue since day 1 and hoped for a new release with bug fixes by now. Please please please fix this issue before my Chipolo arrives :)

Just got mine and I love it. My friends ask me about the this little magical chip all the time.

The instructions are nearly useless. What do the icons mean and are there reasons to choose one over the other? The horn is laughable. The volume on the Chipolo is so quiet you cant hear it when you press the horn unless you have the Chipolo right next to you. The distance indicator is also unreliable. I had the Chipolo in the same room as my iPhone to test it. I did not move the Chipolo, or the phone, they were about 3 feet apart, and the phone kept displaying different distances. Ranging from 2 feet to as high as 12 feet. The good news? I think the thermometer works correctly.

After waiting 3 months for this to be shipped, I was expecting something that worked. It does not work, and while I cant say anything for the app, it seems a bit simplistic. I think theyre going for that feel so everyone can use it but without that cheap piece of plastic working on my keychain, its a moot point. By not working, I mean that it wont turn on or connect to my phone or make any of the sounds that it should. There are many other products in this category now that do similar things and I think its worth it to look elsewhere. On the bright side, the colors are pretty!

As an initial backer of this project I was excited to get the chips. What a waste. There is no volume, vibration or indicator whatsoever, so if you dont just see the object you are looking for, you are out of luck. Developer says use it in a quieter room - no help, no better and please, only lose things in a quiet place. They are also jagger than expected, a little bulky on almost anything. Not worth the time or energy much less the $$.

I was an initial backer through kick starter, I bought 4 of these and I already regret it. It is very hard to pinpoint what direction your chipolo is because there is no compass function. The app only points straight ahead. One of my chipolos registered as still being at the state fair, and another registered as still on the highway even though I was already home far from the fair and in my house. The horn is laughable and one of my chipolos wont stop beeping. Its beeps randomly and incessantly at times even if the app is closed. The snake to find is just a push notification. Which is pretty useless if one actually needed to find your phone.... So many problems and many of them monthly updates wont fix, I was so hopeful for this product, guess its always too good to be true.

Had these things for 2 weeks now and the app still wont sync with them. The apps functions just dont work.

I love my tag. Cant wait for V2.0 that will be louder. I just wish the notification sound would play even when the the app is not running...

I updated the app today and it tells me all my chips are at a place I was 3 days ago. Thats especially odd because one of my chips never leaves my home, so I have no idea why its supposedly somewhere else. Ive shut down the app and restarted it, but it still shows all my chips at the location from 3 days ago. I guess O can reset them, but if chipped item went missing before I reset the Chipolo would be useless. This has happened to one of my chips before and that did not involve an update, it just stopped working. I cant trust that "nothing is lost" because it isnt reliable. Im very disappointed that this has happened again and that now all of my chips were affected. Until the chips work consistently and dont get "stuck" in one location, I dont feel comfortable recommend this product.

Purchased four of these, also original kickstarted backer, very poor operational performance. Can’t get the app to work at all! Stay away from these… Buyer beware.

App freezes when renaming a Chipolo.

I have thankfully not had to use my Chipolo in earnest yet, but Im awaiting the day I need it. I love several features, but some could be refined. I love that it offers the temperature where item was last for those times you drop your keys outside the car in winter or leave your phone in the fridge... But I think the gps is pretty shoddy. My "last logged location" for keys that were in my house was two doors down. Good for an approximation, but pretty non-specific for someone who might actually need to find an item. Im still not 100% sure how to use the proximity indicator, which alerts you to how far from the item you are standing...but maybe Im not doing it right? Anyhow, nice idea, some neat features, needs some edits for prime time.

Absolutely baffling that this app doesnt work for iPhone 4 but works on iOS 6. I cant think itd be too difficult for Chipolo to build the app to work on all devices that can run iOS 6, but due to that I cannot use the hardware with my car keys that goes along with the app.
